Hello again everyone
Following from my festival emails here's a bit of an odd one - anyone
in the Leeds area want a church organ? I'm not sure what size it is
but I presume you don't actually need a church to house it in, but a
large living room might be necessary....
-----------------------------------------------
Hello dear friends,
first of all hello to you all, especially those of you I haven't been
in contact with for a bit. Why I'm writing is that I have an amazing
unusual opportunity but no space where to put .....it. I have been
offered a very beautiful old wooden bellows-blown church organ. And I
have nowhere to put it! So I'm looking for someone who wants the
organ, can play it anytime, and let me have a go at it once a week or
so. I'm gonna be away from end Nov til next April anyway, so the
thing's pretty much all yours until then anyway. I'll pay for it and
transport is free.
It would need to be someone in the Leeds area cos they won't deliver
it any further away. So if you live in Leeds and you want it in your
home or you know somebody in Leeds who would LOVE to have such a
beautiful, old, fully functional church organ (or harmonium) then let
me know immediately.
I have been in many churches cos I often stop for a rest at churches
on my travels and only once have I seen one of these beautifully
carved old organs. Some of the ones I've seen in other places were
hard to play cos the bellows mechanism was faulty, yet this one that
I've been offered is easy to play, looks good, all keys except one are
working and it makes a beautiful sound. If you or your friend want to
see it beforehand, let me know; that can be arranged.
This is really a once in a lifetime opportunity to get my/our hands on
one of these old things.
Hope you're all well
be in touch,
xxx Zaka
