Hi,

Does anyone know anyone aged 18-25 who may be interested in becoming a
trainee leader for a Youth Music project run by Yorkshire Dales Workshops in
Otley?

The Music Factory is aimed at 9-16 year olds who want to learn about folk
traditions. The teaching is aural and the atmosphere is friendly and
informal. The focus this year is two-fold - getting kids in who are
completely new to music (which offers quite a challenge to the Music
Leaders) and also giving participants a well-rounded introduction to the
cultural diversity of the local area _outside_ of Otley - this will be in
the form of guest musicians.

It will run every Sunday afternoon, more or less, 2-4pm, in school term time
- to total about 20-25 sessions over the year. The position would be part
time as we are hoping to recruit 2 trainees, ie each would be expected to
attend 10-15 sessions over the year. It would be paid between £40 and £50
per session, to include costs and preparation time. The trainees will be
guided in teaching skills throughout the year, gradually being given more
responsibility as they become ready for it.

If anyone is interested then please get in touch here!

Thanks very much,
Helena
