Dear all, Now the March winds are blowing away our winter cobwebs, what better way to prepare for an early Easter than a little session of French music and dance?
Les Panards Dansants' next get together will be on Thursday 20 March.
Musicians are dancers are all warmly welcome.
We’ll be meeting as usual from 8 pm onwards at St Michael’s Church Hall, St Michael's Road, Headingley LS6 3AW
We look forward to seeing you there.
And don't forget the informal music sessions on the first Thursday of every month in the Chemic pub, 9 Johnson Street, Woodhouse, Leeds LS6 2NG.
Future events for the diary
The next “Day of Dance” will be held in Saltaire on Saturday 10th May. The programme is now available.
Sunday 13th July - Crayke village gala
Crayke is a village approximately 2 miles to the east of Easingwold off the A19. Each year they hold a village gala event with a specific theme, the proceeds going to local organisations. This year it was thought that a 'French' theme would be good as the gala takes place on 13 July, just before Bastille Day. They are hoping to have a junior 'Tour de France', Can-Can dancers, Family Boules, snail racing (if they can find any), local teenage jugglers and various competitions etc. The gala will start at 12pm and go on as long as it takes, usually to about 5/6pm.
Les Panards have been invited to take part to give the Gala a truly authentic French feel. A number of musicians and dancers have already expressed an interest in going along to what sounds like an interesting day out in the sunshine. If you fancy going but haven't yet let me know, please contact me via email at r_walshaw at hotmail.com . We can discuss arrangements nearer the time.
Best wishes,
Rob Walshaw
